Description: Camelina oil has been found to contain high amounts of omega – 3 fatty acids, like flaxseed oil, which make it suitable for use as a general purpose oil. It contains approxiamtely 15-20% linoleic acid (omega 6) and 35-42% alpha linolenic acid (omega 3). It is also rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants. Camelina does not promote the formation of harmful free radicals. Camelina has excellent emollient, cardiotonic, hypotensive, anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, hydrating and moisturising properties.

 

Colour: Dark Amber to Yellow
Aromatic Description: Strong natural "green" odour
Common Uses: An excellent emollient with extremely good skin penetration making it an excellent addition to face and body lotions. It is a dry oil so is best combined with softer oils for use in products for anti-wrinkle/skin rejuvenation, treatment for arthritis, rheumatism, acne, enlarged pores, eczema, psoriasis and dry or mature skin. Camelina Oil can be used for a hot oil scalp massage which provides nutrition to the scalp and gets rid of dry skin, dandruff and flakiness. It can help to keep the hair looking soft and moisturised while protecting the shafts from free radical damage.

Absorption: Very quickly absorbed into the skin
Shelf life: Users can expect a shelf life of 18 months with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.
WARNING: This oil should not be used during pregnancy or on sensitive skin due to its uric acid content
