Pennyroyal oil is a member of the Lamiaceae family. This oil has a scent very similar to peppermint, yet sweet and herbaceous. It is classed as a top note and blends well with citrus, earthy, herby, minty and woodsy oils.
Pennyroyal has been used as a pest repellant and insecticide to keep fleas away from pets and humans. It is also used to repel mosquitos, gnats, and other pests.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
